Stuff I Actually Use — 2026

Not necessarily the best thing in every category. Just stuff I own, actually use, and would bother mentioning. Was thinking of making an individual one for each but this felt easier.

Getting Around

  • Hyundai Grand i10 Sportz Nios (Automatic)
Got it recently & it was self-financed.. Got into a fender bender within a month of owning it. Classic Bangalore moment. Was reminded of my dad telling me son you should have bought a Maruti cause it spent 20 days in the fucking shop. Well the color is pretty rad so I don't care. No keyless start, no climate control was a minimal compromise to me personally.

Running / Cycling / Fitness

  • Garmin Forerunner 255 Music
Still my main sports watch. GPS, running metrics, cycling support, music and enough battery life that I don't have to think about charging it constantly unlike my Apple Watch for which I have changed three straps in < 2 years ugh... I did kinda dislike the lack of touch on it but have come to get used to it. But yeah UI wise my Apple Watch is probably still too good.
  • Polar H9 Heart Rate Sensor
Great for running splits and training on the cycle trainer. Probably the gold standard though it did give me a nasty rash after my recent HM. Win some. Lose some I guess.
  • Zitel Protective Case for Garmin Forerunner 255 / 255 Music
A must when you are dealing with a somewhat accident prone person like myself. Can't really say all that much besides that.
  • Sportneer Magnetic Bike Trainer
Dumb trainer in the best possible sense: put the bike on it, turn the resistance up and suffer. No subscriptions, no software stack and no pretending an indoor ride needs to be a SaaS product. The resistance could leave a bit to be desired, but it's good enough to hit Zone 4-5, which is fine by me. For now.
  • Van Rysel Long-Distance Triathlon Handlebar Extensions
Clip-on aero bars for my Giant Contend. Great for getting low, cutting through the wind and generally speeding around on my roadie.

Clothing / Running Gear

  • ASICS Gel-Kayano
Deserves its share of glazing. I'm an overpronator, and this stability running shoe has carried me through 500 km so far with very little hassle, even on a wobbly knee that was already cooked before a riding accident, a cherry on the top that took me out of the game for some time.
  • Uniqlo DRY-EX T-Shirt
Real happy they came to Bangalore after their recent launch in Delhi. They feel lighter than air, don't become a miserable wet rag halfway through a run, and are one of the few running shirts I actively notice because of how little I notice wearing them. Also pretty great for doing lifts.

Coffee & Tea

Nothing like celebrating a caffeine addiction that I need a lot of just to function. But here goes...

Gaming

  • Sony PlayStation 5 Slim — Disc Edition, 1TB
Doesn't really need an introduction. Probably the largest pure-entertainment purchase on this list. Got the last one before the price bump and possibly the last one with a disc drive (considering PS6 will ship without one). Do I need it? Not really but excited to play GTA VI, so practicality be damned.
  • OIVO Dust Cover for PS5 Slim.
A profoundly boring accessory that solves an equally boring problem but considering the amount of dust due to construction it became a must.
